I actually only started gardening last summer and so far most things have been a reasonable success. But then we do have quite a bit of sunshine and warmth. I actually don’t water very much at all, but we’ve had fairly consistent downpours of rain every few days this year. I tend to only water once a week if we haven’t had any rain. But I’ve also mulched most of the veggies now to try to retain as much water and we’ve got heavy water absorbing clay soil that helps too.

The tomatoes only arrived later in the month and I didn’t get my act into gear to enter the One Ingredient Challenge, what a shame. And I’ve refused to buy tomatoes for months now knowing we had this huge glut coming!
